        Use of "this", "these", "that" and "those"

- Usamos "this" y "those" para indicar cosas que están cerca. 
This se usa para singular (una cosa) y these para plural (dos o más cosas).

Ex. This is a parrtot
       Esto es un loro.

Ex. These are boats
       Estas son barcas

- Usamos "that" y "those" para cosas que están lejos.
"That" para singular y "thos"e para plural.

Ex. That is a treasure!
       Eso es un tesoro!

Ex. Those are rocks
       Aquellas son rocas

(En español usaríamos aquellos son rocas pero para que os hagáis una idea lo he traducido literal)
